How to Set Up Call Forwarding for Your Service Business in 5 Minutes
Step-by-step guide to forwarding your business calls to an AI agent — works for any phone carrier, Google Business Profile, and Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
Setting up call forwarding sounds technical. It's not. Here's how to do it on every major carrier and phone type in under 5 minutes.
Before you start: you'll need your RingVoiceAI number (provided after onboarding). This is the number calls forward to when you don't answer.
METHOD 1: Conditional Call Forwarding (Recommended) — This forwards calls to your AI only when you don't answer, are on another call, or are out of service. You still answer calls when you're available.
On iPhone (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile): Go to Phone > Keypad. Dial *67 + [your RingVoiceAI number] and tap call. You'll hear a confirmation tone. Done.
On Android: Go to Phone > Menu > Settings > Calls > Call Forwarding > Forward when unanswered > Enter your RingVoiceAI number.
METHOD 2: Update Your Google Business Profile — This is the most important step for service businesses. 40–60% of your inbound calls likely come from Google Maps. Log into your Google Business Profile, go to Edit Profile > Contact > Phone, and add your RingVoiceAI number as your primary number (or set up call forwarding from your GBP number).
METHOD 3: Full Forwarding — If you want the AI to handle ALL calls (Full-Time AI Receptionist option), dial **21* + [your RingVoiceAI number] + # on any GSM carrier. Calls all forward immediately without ringing your phone.
To disable full forwarding: dial ##21# from your handset.
That's it. Your AI agent is now live. Every unanswered call will be intercepted before it reaches voicemail — answered, qualified, and booked.
